We got a cat there without the humane society telling us she was sick. The cats there are not in their own separate cages and are constantly together. If a cat has a disease or infection, it can easily spread to others. When we got our cat she experienced severe symptoms and had to pay a large amount just to keep her alive as her was terminally ill. This humane society is not doing their due diligence to keep the infections or diseases from spreading and is grounds of contamination. I hope they see this review and change the way they care for the animals.
The Humane Society in itself im sure is great. Its not the organization that I have an issue with, but rather whoever works as their administrator answering their phones. I called in once asking about surrendering a young cat who had no other option but to be put down or given up since surgery was not going to be effective and was not something we could afford. Instead of being kind and understanding, I was made to feel guilty and ashamed for even calling to ask for help. My reason for calling in was apparently not good enough to her and not valid. Even though we had gone through so many vet expenses already. I just wish she had been a little more kinder because the day had already been hard enough for us.
Incredible organisation doing great work! Keep it up! I got one of my cats here, and while he's a pretty ugly dude that doesn't pull his ample weight in the slightest, he does make my wife happy and I guess that's something.
Incredibly caring and wonderful at this animal shelter. I had to surrender a stray cat and they were so helpful with the process. Every time someone is looking to adopt a cat I recommend them! They're also great to volunteer for, everyone is friendly, compassionate and understanding.
In our efforts to find a suitable space for a stray animal, we were told to do so in a shelter within our city. However, this same criteria did not apply to our substantial cash donations, that we made in the past!
We recently lost our cat and we are ready to start looking for a new one. We were in Erin and decided to drop in to see the cats. We were told we had to make an appointment!! I have adopted several cats from humane societies over the years and never had to make an appointment! Do you actually want to find homes for pets? I am sure we will find a pair of cats needing a home elsewhere. We are extremely dedicated cat owners with no limits for our pets. Unfortunately 2 cats will remain in a cage because we didn't have an appointment. I read your reason for this and it makes no sense. I find cats long for the interaction when in a cage.
They seem like friendly people and clearly care about the animals. The prices are kind of strange to me. A random rescue (let's face it, many have issues) that needs a new home and it's more expensive than just looking online. But I realize they probably don't set the prices and it's a head office type of thing.
